First chance to view David Baker’s exhibition, Common Ground, at Southampton City Art Gallery as Recording the Region 2017 concludes

21 Dec 2017

Be sure to visit David Baker’s Common Ground exhibition before the Recording the Region 2017 exhibition comes to an end.

Opening on 2 December, and running until 7 April 2018, Common Ground is the culmination of four years spent documenting Southampton Common in the early hours of the morning.  Capturing the Common throughout the seasons and devoid of humans, gives an alternative view of the large communal area which is used by hundreds of people and is home to a wide range of events.

David Baker hopes that visitors to the exhibition with view and engage with the Common in a new way.
Councillor Satvir Kaur, Cabinet Member for Communities, Culture and Leisure said; “Southampton Common is the green lungs of our city and holds a special place in so many of our hearts. I am really excited to welcome this stunning new insight and perspective into a place that we regularly use, visit and have enjoyed for years. I hope local residents and visitors alike take advantage of this special exhibition.”
