COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update

Southampton City Art Gallery is delighted to be re-opening its doors on Tuesday 4 August.

You must now pre-book a FREE timed ticket online before you visit – Book here.

Our top priority is to protect visitors, our staff and volunteers, so we have introduced a new one-way system, increased the cleaning regime and reduced the number of visitors at any one time to ensure we can manage social distancing and maintain public safety.

As of 8 August 2020, customers are required to wear a face coverings in the gallery

To make your own face coverings follow this online tutorial created by Solent University.

Initially we will be open on a reduced number of days: Tuesday and Thursday 11am – 3pm, Saturday 11am – 4pm.

Visitor Information

Explore Southampton City Art Gallery’s diverse collection of fine art, which can tell the story of European art from the Renaissance through to the present day. Regularly rotating displays feature works from the collection, national touring exhibitions and work by local artists.

There’s also a range of creative workshops and activities to suit all ages all year round.

Free to visit – You’ll find us in the heart of the Southampton’s cultural quarter.
