COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update

Southampton City Art Gallery open

You must now pre-book a FREE timed ticket online before you visit – Book here. Tickets will be released each Tuesday for the following week.

Please arrive within 10 minutes of your timeslot. If you arrive late, we will not be able to guarantee you entry. Entry will be at the discretion of the staff, based on current visitor numbers.

Our top priority is to protect visitors, our staff and volunteers, so we have introduced a new one-way system, increased the cleaning regime and reduced the number of visitors at any one time to ensure we can manage social distancing and maintain public safety.

As of 8 August 2020, customers are required to wear a face coverings in the gallery and no groups of over six can be booked into the museum.

Group and Educational Bookings

If you’d like to discuss visiting us with a group or as part of a school please contact us at museums.education@southampton.gov.uk. You can also find out more about our educational offer, including our great online talks, Virtual Sessions and socially-distanced outreach opportunities by clicking here.

School and group visits to the venue will continue to run this term. During these times, visitors into the venue will be paused or reduced to allow for appropriate social distancing. Risk assessments have been carried out and guidelines sent to groups in advance of visits.

Visitor Information

Explore Southampton City Art Gallery’s diverse collection of fine art, which can tell the story of European art from the Renaissance through to the present day. Regularly rotating displays feature works from the collection, national touring exhibitions and work by local artists.

There’s also a range of creative workshops and activities to suit all ages all year round.
