To mark this major exhibition of Leonardo da Vinci: A Life in Drawing, Southampton City Art Gallery will also be showing two complementary exhibitions that celebrate drawing.

Leonardo: Inspiring the transformation of a city

An interesting, interdisciplinary talk by Dr Alan Wong of the University of Southampton, discussing why street art and culture can help to transform cities like Southampton, and sharing similar themes with Leonardo’s ‘Arno canal bypass’ drawing, where inspirational designs do not necessarily mean they are always brought to fruition

Join artist Charlie James to develop your drawing skills. Sketch human figures and faces in a range of materials used by Leonardo and work up a watercolour painting to take home.
